BioImaging Network

The BioImaging Network Munich

The BioImaging Network Munich (BIN) is a collaboration of groups from
four imaging centers of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU)
at the High-Tech-Campus Großhadern/Martinsried. Research and teaching in the network cover the development and application of a wide range of bioimaging methods from the substructure of molecules to living animals. The network allows an efficient combination of available resources. By bundling available expertise it also allows to identify opportunities offered by new scientific developments, leading to a coordinate approach to acquire respective new equipment. Thus, a high level of knowledge and high-end equipment can be made available for science and teaching.

Techniques used include X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron-microscopy and various incarnations of light microscopy.
